When you care for animals with complicated histories and individual needs, the details matter. A medication, appointment, change in behavior, repair, or small moment in an animal’s story can be important.
Running Promise Sanctuary showed me how quickly that information spreads across notebooks, calendars, documents, messages, spreadsheets, and memory. Available systems can store data, but they do not always understand the rhythm of sanctuary work.
Technology is the other half of my world.
I spent decades working in technology, and I still enjoy figuring things out and building useful tools. Sanctuary Keeper brings those parts of my life together: technology in service of animals and the people caring for them.
Built openly, but responsibly.
I want rescues, sanctuaries, shelters, and related organizations to help steer development. That means showing real working features, inviting frank feedback, and eventually developing live with people who understand the problems firsthand.
It also means protecting privacy. Public demonstrations will use a fictional sanctuary and fictional records—never the private medical or operational information of real animals and people.
